Laketown Handmades is a small-batch collection made by hand in Waconia, MN — starting with savory sourdough bread.
Everything is mixed, shaped, and baked in small numbers, the slow way, so nothing tastes rushed or turned out by the dozen. The name is a nod to home: Waconia sits on the water, in the land of ten thousand lakes, where the call of the loon carries across still mornings.
Like the loon that returns to the same quiet waters year after year, this is work rooted in the home and made with patience.
Sourdough is where it starts, not where it ends — more handmade goods are on the way, each carrying the same care, and the same Minnesota roots.
The mark of the Loon
The Laketown Handmades logo is built around the loon — Minnesota's state bird, and the sound of home. It sits at the center of the state itself, wings spread and lifting off the water, the way a loon rises on a still morning before settling back into the same quiet lake it always returns to.
Above it, a single star marks the North — a quiet nod to the Star of the North State, and to Waconia sitting right there on the water in the land of ten thousand lakes.
Everything about the mark is meant to feel steady and made by hand: the loon rooted in its water, the state drawn in a clean line around it, and the year it all began — est. 2026 — held on either side.
